Sterling Silver Info and Care Instructions
Our jewelry is made of 925 sterling silver. By definition, sterling silver contains 92.5% silver. Pure silver is too malleable to be used in jewelry making and is therefore alloyed with another metal to make it more durable and rigid. It does NOT contain nickel.
Due to oxidation and wear, your sterling silver jewelry may tarnish over time. Regular cleanings with a sterling silver polish cloth will keep your jewelry looking like new.

Gold Filled Info and Care Instructions
Gold Filled metals are made by permanently heat-bonding a layer of 14 karat Gold to an alloy/base metal core. The only thing that comes in contact with your skin is 14 karat Gold. Gold Filled has 100 times the amount of 14 karat Gold as plating. It is strong, durable, and resistant to tarnish. It will not flake off. In order to carry the label "Gold Filled", it must be at least 1/20th (by weight) 14 karat gold. The result is a metal that looks and wears like 14 karat gold but is much more affordable.
TO CLEAN: Although 14 karat Gold Filled jewelry will not tarnish, it will get dirty. The oils from your skin transfer to the metal and need to be washed off periodically. The easiest way to clean your handmade chain is to scrub it with an old soft toothbrush and shampoo or dish soap. Rinse well, pat dry, and air dry. Make sure your jewelry is completely dry before storing.

Tips for Cleaning and Storing your Sterling Silver Jewelry
- Rub the silver between a sterling silver polish cloth with your fingers. Be mindful of delicate jewelry and try not to use too much force on thin wires.
- Avoid rubbing the polish cloth on gemstones or shell. The polish cloth is treated with a chemical cleaner that can be harmful to stones.
- Store all sterling silver jewelry in sealed plastic bags. Exposure to oxygen causes the silver to tarnish. Keep all of your jewelry in the plastic bags provided with every shipment.
- Clean your jewelry regularly. It will be much easier to clean if you do not let the tarnish build up.
- Take your jewelry off when you are cooking or showering. Acidic foods and chemicals can be harmful to the silver and gemstones.
